General
The 61 Judo club has had a good year. At the beginning of the year we had about 59 juniors with 29 on the waiting list. To date we have slightly dropped in number to about 48 juniors with 12 on the waiting list.

In May this year Ron and Jean Cleere moved on to continue running their own judo club but still help us to run our two licensed events and club tournament.

Kim is still with us but as a regular player, not a coach. The only coaches are Dean and I with Dean acting as the second coach.

The opening of the Friday classes on 19/05/06 has been a success with a good second class of about 12 to 14 juniors, plus some seniors. The first class needs to be built up, but we do have 6 to 8 junior players. We will be starting beginners on Friday which will build up the class.

The senior session is still a bit hit or miss with numbers, we have about 12 in the senior class but only 6 to 8 regularly attend. This is why we have still not started a senior class on Friday night. The senior class will remain on Wednesday night for now. Over the next 3 to 5 years we should have some of our now juniors becoming seniors and so this will strengthen our senior class. Seniors can still start immediately if they so wish.
